The intensity or energy settings of your laser sessions vary depending on your hair characteristics (color, thickness or density), skin condition (skin color, disease, disorder) and pain tolerance, at the time of the treatment.

Our hair grows in different stages or phases, with all the hair on a specific area at a different stage or phase at any given time. It's crucial for us to target your unwanted hair during the anagen phase, otherwise known as the growth phase. Hair has a growth phase of approximately 45 days. This is why we recommended intervals of 6–8 weeks in between each session (depending on the level of hair growth or the recommendation of your laser specialist).

  In most cases, the intensity of your laser treatment is increased every session or every 2-3 sessions depending on the factors mentioned. Keep in mind that higher settings do not necessarily equate to increased effectiveness of the treatment.

In the anagen phase, the hair is attached to the blood supply and is actively growing. When the right settings or power is determined based on your hair characteristics, skin condition and pain tolerance, the heat from the laser is pulsed over the skin, this heat is transferred down into the hair follicle. In turn, this disables the interconnecting cells between the hair root and the blood supply, preventing new hair from growing.

  If you have light/fine hair

Laser works best on hair that are dark and coarse in texture. In areas where hair is lighter in texture and color, like arms, inner thighs, face, and arms, more sessions may be needed. This is because lighter hair absorbs much less heat from the laser. Unwanted hair that is dark and thick in density rapidly absorbs heat during treatment.

  Transparency is important to us, so we don't consider your laser settings secret. You can always ask your laser specialist about them.
